1. Data Governance Strategy and Framework:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy and framework aligned with the organization's objectives and compliance requirements
  • Define data governance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent and effective data management practices
  • Establish data ownership and accountability across the organization and promote a data-driven culture
2. Master Data Management (MDM):
  • Design, implement, and maintain a robust Master Data Management framework to govern and control the organization's critical data assets
  • Define and enforce data quality standards and processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of master data
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and define master data domains, hierarchies, and relationships
  • Monitor and assess data quality metrics and implement remediation measures to resolve data issues
3. Data Governance Implementation:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, data stewards, business units, and compliance teams, to implement data governance initiatives
  • Establish data governance roles and responsibilities, including data stewards and data custodians, and facilitate their engagement in data management activities
  • Conduct data risk assessments, identify data-related risks, and implement controls to mitigate risks
  • Develop and deliver data governance training and awareness programs to promote understanding and adoption of data governance practices
4. Data Standards and Policies:
  • Define and maintain data standards, naming conventions, and data dictionaries to ensure consistency and understanding across the organization
  • Establish data classification and data protection policies to ensure data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to align data governance practices with regulatory requirements
5. Data Quality and Compliance:
  • Monitor and measure data quality against established data standards and implement data quality improvement initiatives
  • Conduct data audits and assessments to identify data quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations, and support the organization's data security and privacy initiatives

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in data governance and master data management, including designing and implementing data governance frameworks and MDM solutions
  • Solid understanding of data governance principles, best practices, and industry standards
  • Familiarity with data quality management processes and tools
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data privacy and protection
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at various levels
  • Experience with data governance and MDM tools and technologies is a plus
  • Certification in data management or data governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is desirable
